Make 2023 a FALL FREE year with Spectrum Fall Prevention. We are excited to add new members to our team and continue to provide the educational workshops and exercise classes we all need to stay strong as we age.
We have a new program starting in 2023 for those with arthritis! Walk With Ease will begin in February at the San Leandro Senior Community Center. This 6 week, 1 hour program will help you become self motivated to use walking as an effective tool to increase strength, improve balance and help improve the symptoms of arthritis.
The A Matter of Balance educational workshop is an 8 session, 3 hour program that includes lunch! It is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Learn how to manage concerns about falls and improve flexibility, balance and strength. Upcoming A Matter of Balance in-person class sessions will be held at the Hayward Area Senior Center, North Berkeley Senior Center, and North Oakland Senior Center.
The very popular EnhanceFitness is an evidence-based fall prevention and exercise program. Older adults work to become more energized and active to sustain independent lives. Classes are 1 hour and include aerobics, strength, balance and flexibility movements to help address the factors that can lead to falls.
Upcoming EnhanceFitness class sessions are 12 weeks long and start the first week of January at Cherryland Community Center, San Leandro Senior Community Center and virtually via Zoom.
Have you ever been curious about Tai Chi for Better Balance? So have we! Tai Chi can help improve the strength, mobility, and functional balance of individuals with diminished physical abilities. We are eager to add this to our service offerings, please see our website for class information.
